RESTON, VA. JUNE 14, 2018 ThunderCat Technology is proud to announce that it has recently been named the winner for Outstanding Corporate Citizen of the Year in the Small Business category. The Northern Virginia Chamber’s Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards honor individuals, businesses and non-profits for above-and-beyond business leadership, employee engagement, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The Outstanding Corporate Citizen of the Year award is presented to a DC metro region business for outstanding contributions during
the past year to employees and the community. To be selected, the company must be a longtime advocate for the community and have a longstanding reputation for above-and-beyond corporate social responsibility efforts. Special consideration is given to applicants that demonstrate collaboration, with other businesses, non-profits, or government, in their corporate social responsibility efforts. This award recognizes excellence in corporate social responsibility, particularly as it relates to the DC metro region. ThunderCat was one of fifteen nominees in the Small Business category.
Tom Deierlein, CEO commented on the award; “We recently celebrated our tenth anniversary. We have received a variety of awards for economic success. But this special recognition more accurately reflects who we are and how we try to make an impact. This isn’t about one employee or a small group. Charity and volunteering is in our DNA. This is a reflection of our values and the character of those work here. By engaging with our community, it allows us to fulfill our purpose. The purpose of ThunderCat Technology is to make the United States a better and safer place for All Americans. We are very proud of our philanthropic efforts. As a Wounded Warrior, two of my primary focuses are helping the families of Wounded Warriors and other Vetrepreneurs. But that is just me, other employees have other passions and other causes they ask us to support and therefore we adopt. We also do more than simple donations – we prefer to be engaged as volunteers in the causes we support. Over our history we have worked with a number of causes ranging from breast cancer to autism and non-profits both large and small. For more information on our approach to philanthropy and some of the organization we support visit here: https://www.thundercattech.com/about-us/philanthropy/. In the end we are simply decent people helping others who need help. We do it to make a difference, not for the accolades, but it is certainly nice to be recognized.”
